Training Pre-Requisites
Previous background and experience
This workshop is specifically designed for professionals with a solid STEM background who are keen to deepen their understanding of quantum technology. It is particularly suitable for those who have experience or an interest in fields closely related to quantum computing, such as artificial intelligence, finance, cybersecurity, and physics. Participants will engage in structured collaborative activities and have opportunities to network with peers, ensuring a well-rounded and interactive learning experience.
Recommended Background Experience includes:
A STEM background, with a minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
A strong interest in quantum technology or experience in quantum-adjacent fields, including AI, finance, cybersecurity, or physics.
A foundational understanding of university-level mathematics, particularly linear algebra, is recommended for optimal comprehension of the workshop material.
Modules: What’s Involved?
-
Introduce the fundamental differences between classical and quantum mechanics, and lay the foundation for discussing quantum computing, including concepts such as entanglement and superposition
-
Explore quantum computing through a combination of material learned in the previous module and general computer science background knowledge; introduce the notion of 'complexity' and how that relates to problems that are solvable with quantum computers
-
Learn the key differences between public key and symmetric key cryptography, and why public-key methods are both essential to modern communication and at risk in the quantum era. Discover methods of quantum cryptography
Workshop Takeaways
Attendees who successfully complete the training will receive a digital badge from QAI.
