
Introduction to Post-Quantum Cybersecurity
Hands-On Workshop for Infosec Professionals
Overview:
The information and communication technologies sector are set to be disrupted by rapid advances in quantum computing and communications in coming years. Starting from advances in computing and networking resulting from quantum technologies, learners will be introduced to threats and opportunities for cybersecurity.
Learners will understand the Canadian national quantum readiness strategies, connect with peers, experts, and solutions in this space, and acquire the resources, strategies, and tools to prepare their organizations. Learners will take away a formulated action plan, outlining tangible steps that can be implemented now, as well as ways to keep up to date with future changes.

Previous background and experience
This workshop is designed for adult learners with the following prerequisites:
Education/Experience: Cybersecurity professionals and leaders at all levels. Participants must have some professional experience in information security, including cybersecurity basics and fundamental knowledge of how computers function.
Relevance: Best suited for IT and cybersecurity professionals seeking to help their organizations strategize for quantum safety.
Our training offerings are designed for learners aged 19+ to ensure the best learning experience
Modules: What’s Involved?

Introduces quantum at a high level to understand the opportunities and threats.

An analysis on quantum emergence; this presentation focuses primarily on the threats portion and how it relates to cyber security.

Provide participants with resources, tools, ideas on how to get their organizations to act regarding quantum threats and opportunities.

Wrap up the workshop by participating in an insightful tabletop exercise, working together to develop strategies to mitigate a quantum-based attack.

Close the workshop with dedicated networking time. Meet others in your field and discuss what you have discovered throughout the day.
