Introduction to Post-Quantum Cybersecurity
Hands-On Workshop for Infosec Professionals
Overview:
The information and communication technologies sector are set to be disrupted by rapid advances in quantum computing and communications in coming years. Starting from advances in computing and networking resulting from quantum technologies, learners will be introduced to threats and opportunities for cybersecurity.
Learners will understand the Canadian national quantum readiness strategies, connect with peers, experts, and solutions in this space, and acquire the resources, strategies, and tools to prepare their organizations. Learners will take away a formulated action plan, outlining tangible steps that can be implemented now, as well as ways to keep up to date with future changes.

Previous background and experience
This introductory hands-on workshop is for networking and cybersecurity professionals and leaders at all levels. The content is designed to be accessible to both technical and non-technical learners.
Attendees must have introductory knowledge of information security usually gained from experience in the field including cybersecurity basics and the basics of how computers function.
Modules: What’s Involved?

Introduces quantum at a high level to understand the opportunities and threats.

An analysis on quantum emergence; this presentation focuses primarily on the threats portion and how it relates to cyber security.

Provide participants with resources, tools, ideas on how to get their organizations to act regarding quantum threats and opportunities.

Wrap up the workshop by participating in an insightful tabletop exercise, working together to develop strategies to mitigate a quantum-based attack.

Close the workshop with dedicated networking time. Meet others in your field and discuss what you have discovered throughout the day.
